Shahnawaz Dhani first caught the eye of cricket fans during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2018. He was playing for the Quetta Gladiators at the time, and his impressive batting skills quickly turned heads.

After the PSL, Dhani was called up to join the Pakistan cricket team for a practice match against Afghanistan. He was subsequently included in the team’s World Cup squad. Dhani is a young player with a lot of potential, and we will surely be seeing more of him in the future.


Shahnawaz Dhani’s Profile

A young all-rounder, Shahnawaz Dhani made his first-class debut in January 2016. He is a left-handed batsman and a slow left-arm bowler. Dhani had a successful outing in the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as he was adjudged the player of the series for Lahore Qalandars.

He was also the highest wicket-taker for his team in the tournament. Dhani was included in the 16-man Pakistan squad for the Nidahas Trophy 2018 in Sri Lanka. Drawn from the Lahore Qalandars squad, Dhani replaced Faheem Ashraf who was ruled out of the tournament with an injury.

Shahid Afridi may have announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, but he has a new protégé in his cousin, 18-year-old Shahnawaz Dhani.

The youngster has made quite a name for himself in a short time, with his performances in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) catching the eye of selectors.

Dhani was recently called up to the Pakistan national cricket team for their upcoming tour of England, and this is a major achievement for the player.

He has worked hard to get where he is and has proven himself worthy of the Pakistan cricket shirt. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

Twice as good as her brother

Renowned all-rounder Shahnawaz Dhani is the younger sister of cricketer Shan Masood. She made her cricket debut in 2018 as a part of the Pakistan team in the ICC Women’s World T20.

Unlike her brother, who is known for his aggressive batting style, Shahnawaz is a wicketkeeper and medium-pacer. She is also the first cricketer in her family. Shahnawaz made her mark in Pakistani cricket by scoring a century in only her second match.

In an interview with theDawn, she said, “I have worked hard to be where I am and my focus is to perform consistently for Pakistan.”



Shahnawaz Dhani is all set to make her debut in the Pakistan team, she has just been selected for the training camp after being successfully picked by Captain Sana Mir. While talking about Shahnawaz Dhani’s brother Hammad Azam who is also a talented cricketer and was playing first-class cricket for Multan at one point of time during his career.
